Tipity Hope Ministries

Recovery Through Faith, Work & Community

🚀 Launching in Central, Pennsylvania — Currently Securing Our First Site

A faith-based 6-month recovery program for people who have completed detox. This is not a program where you sit around talking about your problems all day — you're out working, fixing them. Work a real job, pay your bills, save money, and leave with the Full Armor of God. We also work with courts and parole agents to give good people a real place to land.

⚡ We're not fully operational yet, but if you or someone you love needs help right now — contact us. We will personally help get them into a program in their area today.

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."
— Ephesians 6:10-11 (NIV)

Why I Built This

From Doug Walters — Founder, Tipity Hope Ministries

I've been through it all. Four 6-month Salvation Army programs. Multiple detox facilities. Several 90-day rehabs. I was a big-time sponsor in AA. I did everything they told me to do, and nothing stuck — because every one of those programs had the same problem: I'd leave sober, but sober was all I had. No job. No money. No plan. Just clean blood and an empty wallet, and the world would hit me like a freight train.

Then I found JADA Ministries in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and everything changed. JADA made you work — not as punishment, but as part of the recovery. I got a job. I caught up on my bills. I saved money. And when I walked out after 6 months, I didn't just have sobriety — I had a life.

While I was at JADA, I was introduced to Emerald Coast Church. Pastor Tim didn't care about how bad my past was — he told me how good my future could be. He showed me that church wasn't what I thought it was. He always said the best is yet to come. And the whole ECC family — Pastor Mike, Pastor Adam, and the entire congregation — welcomed me like I'd been there my whole life. Between JADA giving me structure and ECC giving me a spiritual home, I finally had the foundation I'd been missing every other time.

That's what Tipity Hope Ministries is. I'm building what worked for me — a program where people come in after detox, get on their feet fast, work real jobs, attend faith-based classes rooted in the Full Armor of God, and leave in 6 months set up for life. Not just sober. Set up.

I'm bringing this to Central Pennsylvania because I know firsthand that the state will hold you in jail or prison until you have somewhere to go. I've seen good people sit behind bars not because they're dangerous, but because they don't have an address to parole to. Tipity Hope will be that place — not just a bed, but a program, a job, and a future.

This isn't the 12 steps. This is 10 spiritual principles from Ephesians 6:10-18. Real work, real community, real accountability, and a real shot at the life you were meant to live.

I have to thank my dad. He never gave up on me. When I couldn't see anything worth saving in myself, he saw it. Every program I failed, every phone call I didn't deserve, every time I gave him a reason to walk away — he stayed. I didn't understand it then, but I understand it now: God was answering his prayers the whole time. Even when I was at my worst, someone was on their knees asking God to save me. And He did.

To every family member, friend, or loved one reading this — don't count that person out. Even when they can't see it, even when they're at the end of the road, your prayers are working. God hears you. I am living proof that even after every program fails, the right one can change everything. There is hope.

About the Ministry

More Than Sobriety — A Complete Life Rebuild

⚔️

Faith-Based Recovery

Built on Ephesians 6:10-18, the Full Armor of God. Not the 12 steps — 10 spiritual principles rooted in Scripture that equip you for real life after recovery.

Post-Detox Program

We are not a detox facility. Members must complete detox before entering. Day one you move in, day two we handle legal matters and finish intake, and as soon as your urine test passes — you're working.

💼

Work While You Heal

Members work real jobs during the program. Catch up on bills, save money, and leave after 6 months with financial stability — not just sobriety.

🏠

Community Living

Multiple houses at each site with shared kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and outdoor areas. Dinner cooked Monday-Friday. Food pantry partnerships for packed lunches.

📱

Less Restrictive, More Real

Keep your cellphone. Talk to your family. Live as close to normal life as possible while getting the structure and support you need to recover.

🔬

Random Drug Testing

Accountability matters. Random urine tests throughout the program keep everyone honest and protect the community. Clean living is non-negotiable.

⚖️

Court & Parole Liaison

We work directly with courts, probation officers, and parole agents. Need somewhere to parole to? We can be that place. We coordinate with the system to give you a real shot.

🤝

Job Partnerships

We partner with local companies to help get every member employed. You'll have a job, income, and work experience when you graduate.

🕐

Extended Stay Option

6 months is the standard program. If you need more time, we offer extended stays so nobody gets pushed out before they're ready.

🧹

House Chores & Responsibility

Every house has a chore list assigned by the House Manager. You keep your space clean, you contribute to the house, and you learn the discipline of taking care of what's around you. It's not punishment — it's practice for real life.

The 4-Phase Program

6 Months That Will Change Your Life

01

Intake & Orientation (Days 1-3)

Day one you move in and get settled. Day two we handle legal matters, finish intake, and you take your first urine test. Once intake is complete and your test passes, we're getting you to work the next business day. No wasted time.

02

Building (Weeks 1-8)

You're working a real job now. Attend weekly classes on the 10 spiritual principles, Wednesday church, and Thursday/Friday teachings. Start catching up on bills and building financial stability. Random urine tests keep everyone accountable.

03

Strengthening (Weeks 9-20)

Deeper into the Word. You're becoming a leader in the house, mentoring newer members, saving money, and building habits that carry you through life after the program.

04

Launch (Weeks 21-26)

Prepare for graduation. Finalize your transition plan — housing, continued employment, church community, and ongoing support. Leave with a job, money saved, bills current, and the Full Armor of God.

The 10 Spiritual Principles

Based on the Full Armor of God — Ephesians 6:10-18

1

The Belt of Truth

Be honest with yourself, with God, and with others. Recovery starts when the lies stop.

2

The Breastplate of Righteousness

Guard your heart by living right. Make choices that protect your spirit and honor the new life you're building.

3

Feet Fitted with Readiness

Be ready to move — toward work, toward healing, toward the life God has for you.

4

The Shield of Faith

When doubt and temptation come — and they will — faith is what stops the attack. Trust God even when it's hard.

5

The Helmet of Salvation

Protect your mind. Know who you are in Christ. Your past does not define your future.

6

The Sword of the Spirit

The Word of God is your weapon. Learn it, memorize it, speak it. Answer the enemy with Scripture.

7

Prayer Without Ceasing

Stay connected to God through constant prayer. At work, at home, in the hard moments. Prayer is your lifeline.

8

Work as Worship

Your job is part of your recovery. Work hard, earn honest money, and honor God through your labor.

9

Brotherhood & Accountability

You don't do this alone. Your housemates and leaders hold you up and you hold them up. Iron sharpens iron.

10

Stand Firm

After you've done everything — stand. Don't go back. The armor is on, the foundation is set. Live the life God gave you.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
